What do you do when you're a parent who's a combo of geeky and lazy? You program a way for your computer to rock your baby to sleep, of course.

This enterprising parent used his Linux box and a custom program to get the CD drive to repeatedly open and close! He then tied a string between his kid's car seat and the drive, and voila, automatic baby rocker. Now if only there was a way to get the computer to feed them their meals, they’d be all set!

Now here is a smart idea! It should be implemented in each and every earbud manufactured from this day forward. The design uses a zipper like configuration to attach both cables together when earbuds are not in use. Personally this would make my life easier! My earbuds seem to get tangled whenever they leave my ears, sometimes even while on my ears but thats a whole other issue! Now imagine all the free time created by this annoyance-avoiding time saver!

Why does fabric become "seemingly" darker when wet? well here's your answer! (i know so random ;p)

When fabric gets wet, light coming towards it refracts within the water, dispersing the light. In addition, the surface of the water causes incoherent light scattering. The combination of these two effects causes less light to reflect to your eyes and makes the wet fabric appear darker. Now you know! spread the word ;D---

Personally i hate change! Simply because change is BAD, just kidding ;p but surely something traumatizing happened when i was a simple innocent child that started this fear of change issue! Hello all! i know its been a while since i last posted, i had health issues(i fainted, broke my nose and half a tooth!!!>>but im better now el7mdella) so i thought what better to warm myself up back into the world of blogging other than a mini post(an appetizer if you will) so here it is!

Energy drinks, carbonated beverages, teas, and citric fruit juices all bathe the teeth in harmful acids. Drinking through a straw can help limit the damage, as can rinsing the mouth with water afterwards. also using a straw is more hygienic(your lips dont have to touch surfaces that god nows what have rubbed against). preferably straws that are wrapped are your numero uno choice :)

Well...actually i don't, but there is this one thing that really bugs me about it! and since they say a picture is worth a thousand words

You see the car seat is set so close to the center console that it makes it impossible to get your hands through if by any chance you became human and dropped something in between!! I tried moving the seat up down and whatever position i could get it in and still no use, i mean seriously what's up with that! For instance yesterday while i was trying to swap my sim card from one mobile to another it fell into the area i came to call the oblivion, i had to go to zain's airport branch(only one open at the time) and get a new sim card, sure the new sim card is pretty but not worth the time! ok so now its your turn people, what bugs you about your car?Come on sharing is caring!

Quick Fixes

Got an old piano? Clean up those ivories with a little toothpaste on an old toothbrush, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. This works for newer, plastic keys as well. Also works well on silver and chrome.

10 ways to swat a fly!

1.Do it early

Because they are cold-blooded, the reactions of insects depend on the temperature of the air. Early in the morning or in the evening they will be a bit dopey, but in the heat of the day they will be very quick.

2. Approach from behind

Goes one theory, because flies take off backwards.

3. Aim ahead, rather than at

Within milliseconds of sensing a threat flies get their body ready to take off forward, backwards or sideways. Given that they are going to be jumping away from the swat, it's best to aim slightly ahead of it>>sneaky ;)

4. The old-fashioned slap

Now one known this as Mr. Barack Obama himself. Stay still, keep focused, take aim and attack. Ideal for a fast hand and if the fly is stationary. And if the world's media is in attendance, YouTube fame beckons!!

5. Implements with holes

Are more effective. It's the air pressure they detect and fly away from. It's not so much that they see something coming, but they feel the pressure wave in front of the object.

7. Use hands

Put your hands either side of the fly, facing each other, so it doesn't know where the threat comes from, then clap the air a few inches above it. Wash hands immediately to remove the contents of the fly's stomach (don't ask).

8. Get a gadget

At the hi-tech end of the market there's an electric-powered mesh, a dome complete with pheromone and an insecticide aerosol. THE FLIRT

This is usually a woman, who holds her glass with dainty, splayed fingers and uses it in a provocative way.

1-Langur monkeys

The worst animal kingdom mother is the Langur monkey. 2-The African Black Eagle

The African Black Eagle usually lays two eggs, although one is generally no more than an insurance policy. The idea of an insurance policy is quite common in the animal kingdom, but it is the manner in which the unwanted young is disposed of which is particularly shocking. The mother will feed only one chick, and as it grows stronger it will peck its weaker sibling to death. What is especially gruesome about this is that the mother will look on impassively as her youngster is dispatched.

3-Black bears

Here is another animal which is generally regarded as a good mother, but studies have demonstrated that this is not always the case. Black bears like to have litters of two or three cubs, as it takes a similar amount of effort to raise one cub as it does three. Because of this, it has been documented that if a black bear gives birth to just one cub, she will sometimes simply abandon it and will hope for a larger litter the following year. Unlike many animals that may abandon young which are sick or weak, the bear will abandon the youngster simply for being on its own(imagine if that was the case with humans!!).

Everyone has heard it before, from experiments we did as children in school to parents telling us "stop drinking this junk", anyways i thought of shedding some light on the subject. Excessive cola consumption can lead to anything from mild weakness to profound muscle paralysis, doctors are warning! This is because the drink can cause blood potassium to drop dangerously low, Manufacturers insist the products are safe when consumed in moderation.

The problem is with aggressive mass marketing, super-sizing soft drinks, and the effects of caffeine dependance there is very little doubt that more and more people drink 2-3 liters of cola per day(ola chena wayed :S). So tell me what do you think? do you drink coke anyways? if so how often?

Women in the audience immediately and loudly protested Al-Razine's statement, and were shocked to learn the remarks came from a judge, the newspaper reported.

Forget ketchup and salsa! Eskimos consider raw seal oil the king of all condiments! the oil is produced by cutting up freshly slaughtered seal blubber(which is basically fat!) into chunks and leaving them outside in a bucket for 5 days, until the blubber melts and becomes oil! once ready just add tabasco sauce>>to each his own i guess!

My mom used to tell me when a was a little kid "dont swallow your chewing gum!" when i asked her why she said "it gets stuck in your stomach and you could die or get really sick!"...i know drama! so i decided to do some research and i found out that chewing gum is not digestible but it definitely doesn't sit in your stomach for years! Gum actually might help things move through the bowels faster. swine influenza, or swine flu, is a respiratory disease in pigs caused by a certain strain of type A influenza virus. Outbreaks of swine flu are not common among humans: Most people who get swine flu are infected through contact with pigs.

How it spreads

Although people typically get swine flu from contact with pigs, there have been cases of person-to-person transmission. Experts think coughing, sneezing and contaminated surfaces can spread the infection among people, but it is unknown how easily that happens.

The virus cannot be obtained by eating properly cooked pork or any pork product.

Symptoms

The symptoms are similar to those of the common flu: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headaches, chills and fatigue.

Symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting have also been reported. infection from the virus can lead to severe illness, including pneumonia and respiratory failure, and can be fatal.

Treatment

Antiviral drugs, such as oseltamivir or zanamivir, are recommended for the treatment or prevention of swine flu. Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines that keep flu viruses from reproducing in the body. Antiviral drugs work best if treatment is started within two days of the onset symptoms.

why me why me! ;p i just want to vent! (this post is all about t7el6em and eshkeying el 7al!)

lets start with tuesday(2 days ago) i wake up at 4:00p.m. feeling like $hit!(excuse my language) i was supposed to be up and running at 12:30 so i could make it in time for my 2:00 class...anyways whats done is done. later that day i went to dinner with my dear friends smarties & M at 10:00p.m. , we decided to go to slider station...well slider station had an event that was reservations only that day! at the end we went to fridays(marina crescent) and returned to our homes safe and sound at 12:30a.m. before i continue i have to explain this weird thing about me(i cant sleep if i woke up less than 12 hours ago! it has to be 12 hours or more!) meaning in this case since i woke up at 4:00pm i could go to sleep only if it was al least 4:00a.m.!!

i decided to ditch sleeping all together and make it through wednesday(which i have 3 lectures in! at 9:30, at 2:00 and 3:00) which means i get back home at 4:30 which also means that i would be awake for 24 hours!!! i have one word to describe that experience! D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R! seriously i dont know how i made it through!

ok so now im home and asleep its around 5:30p.m., you would think that i would be sleeping like a baby but NO! dear dad decided it was too cold and turned down the ac!>>our rooms are connected with the same control unit for our central ac!! so i woke up at 1:00a.m. and tossed and turned in bed till 4:00a.m., thats 3 hours of tossing and turning! but thats not all, thats when my body decieded to inform me that i have a cold! i kept sneezing and my nose was runny. Somehow i managed to sneak in 2 more hours of sleep before i woke up at 8:00a.m. thursday morning, i took a bath and headed to shuwaikhs university library(maktabat jaber ala7mad) i stayed there for 7 hours till 5:00p.m. which was the time of my exam, i was done at 6:15 and miraculously made it back home into bed! whew!

What is insomnia you ask? well...

Insomnia includes having trouble falling or staying asleep. It's one of the most common medical complaints. With insomnia, you usually awaken feeling unrefreshed, which takes a toll on your ability to function during the day. Insomnia can sap not only your energy level and mood, but also your health, work performance and quality of life.How much sleep is enough varies from person to person. Most adults need seven to eight hours a night. More than one-third of adults have insomnia at some time, while 10 to 15 percent report long-term (chronic) insomnia

No matter what your age, insomnia usually is treatable. The key often lies in changes to your routine during the day and when you go to bed. Try these tips:

Stick to a sleep schedule. Keep your bedtime and wake time consistent from day to day, including on weekends.
Get out of bed when you're not sleeping. Sleep as much as needed to feel rested, and then get out of bed. If you can't sleep, get out of bed after 15 minutes and do something relaxing, such as reading.
Avoid trying to sleep. The harder you try, the more awake you'll become. Read or watch television until you become very drowsy, then go to bed to sleep.
Use your bed and bedroom only for sleeping or intimate relations. Don't read, watch TV, work or eat in bed.
Find ways to relax. A warm bath before bedtime can help prepare you for sleep. Having your partner give you a massage also may help relax you. Create a relaxing bedtime ritual, such as reading, soft music, breathing exercises, yoga or prayer.

Avoid large meals and beverages before bed. A light snack is fine, but eating too much late in the evening can interfere with sleep. Drink less before bedtime so that you won't have to go to the toilet as often.
Check your medications. If you take medications regularly, check with your doctor to see if they may be contributing to your insomnia. Also check the labels of over-the-counter products to see if they contain caffeine or other stimulants, such as pseudoephedrine.
Hide the bedroom clocks. Set your alarm so that you know when to get up, but then hide all clocks in your bedroom. The less you know what time it is at night, the better you'll sleep.

I went to bed not knowing that there was this uninvited guest in my room! this guest goes by many names(buga, garoo9a, ba3oo'6a and mosquito) yes this guest is an insect! its annoying and leaves a big red mark on your unsuspecting body when you least expect it...i just hate the damn things!

Anyways this mosquito was flying around like it owned the place for about 2 days when i finally decided to do something about it, i went to the local jam3eya and bought this...

(its from a brand called "RAID" and is made to offer protection 24/7 for 48 days i think!)i kid you not the next day there was no sign of mrs.mosquito(info:only female mosquitos bite ;p)

It was 9:15, class starts at 9:30 sharp and i just left home(nothing unusual here!) so naturally i was in a hurry and as luck would have it each traffic light i approached turned red(seriously its like they're conspiring against me!) as the minutes went by my level of patience was thinning out, i then said to myself "take it easy, its not like you're going to die" , 5 minutes later i entered alghazalli bridge>>(you know the bridge leading to the free trade zone area and kuwait university) and turned my indicator(signaling i was going to turn left), usually when i move from lane to lane i catch a glimpse in my mirror and check the audi side assist>>its a blind spot monitoring system thats equipped in my car>>(photos after story) anyways i slowly changed lanes when i heard a loud "HoooooooooooooooooooooooooonK">>ana wegaf galby! the system failed to indicate that there was a car and i was 3 inches away from being yesterdays news!! ely bagolah, don't rely on technology and always check and double check when changing lanes(allah y7afe'6na we7afe'6kom)

My sister and i were sitting in our garden(just in front of our house) when suddenly we saw this big fat creature with thick black hair! what could it be?! first we thought it was a lion(we dismissed that idea quickly due to it being ridiculous and impossible ;p) then we said maybe a dog...upon closer inspection it turned out to be a cat, but its not like regular street cats or "3atawya" this one had long hair, true it needed brushing and washing but still, she's one pretty kitty! (Don't let the pics deceive you, she is one huge cat!)
